PPP, Sunni Ittehad Face Off in NA-148 By-Elections

Multan: The by-polling process for NA-148 has commenced under tight security measures.

A competitive race is anticipated between PPP candidate Syed Ali Qasim Gilani and Sunni Ittehad Council’s Taimur Malik Altaf Mahay.

This parliamentary seat became available after Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani assumed the Senate’s charge.

In the previous general elections, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani narrowly defeated Malik Taimur Altaf Mahay.

However, once again, a close contest is expected between Ali Qasim Gilani, Yusuf Raza Gilani’s son, and Malik Taimur Altaf Mahay.

Approximately 444,000 voters are eligible to participate in the by-elections. Among 275 polling stations, 69 are designated as sensitive, where CCTV cameras have been installed.
