Muzaffargarh: The Muzaffargarh police are searching for a female deer that strayed from its natural habitat, suffered injuries in a road accident, and was allegedly taken by three brothers near the Taunsa Barrage in Kot Addu district, according to police sources on Wednesday.
The first information report (FIR), filed at Police Station Sadar Kot Addu, details that Wildlife Inspector Muhammad Amir Rasheed of Taunsa Barrage explained that the female deer, a ‘Para,’ left the Lashari Wala jungle, South Punjab’s largest government-managed forest, and wandered onto a road near Basti Sheikhaan on January 27, 2025.
The animal was hit by a vehicle, leaving it unable to stand. A wildlife team responded to the scene, but the deer was missing, with blood found at the location. Investigation revealed that three brothers, Abdul Rahman, Ramzan, and Ashiq, sons of Allah Bakhsh, had taken the injured deer.
The wildlife inspector requested the recovery of the deer and the arrest of the suspects, stating that the deer was valued at approximately Rs 100,000. The police have filed charges under Section 379 PPC and are actively searching for both the missing deer and the suspects.
