Police Constable Martyred in Rawalpindi Encounter with Dacoits

Rawalpindi: A Punjab police constable was martyred in the line of duty after coming under fire from dacoits in Rawalpindi, a private news channel reported on Thursday.
Constable Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah, the brother of SHO Saddar Wah Syed Aftab Shah, was fatally shot during the incident.
In response, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, took notice and directed RPO Babar Sarfaraz to submit a detailed report. He also instructed CPO Khalid Hamdani to ensure the immediate arrest of the culprits.
Funeral prayers for the martyred officer were held at Police Lines in Rawalpindi, attended by senior police officials including the RPO and CPO. Following the ceremony, the body was transported to the constable’s native village, Jangi Syedan in Chontra, for burial.
The Punjab Police has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice and continue the fight against criminal elements with renewed resolve.
