Police Bust Illegal Kidney Transplant Gang in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi: Police in Rawalpindi have arrested four members of a gang involved in illegal human organ transplants and successfully foiled an attempt to remove a man’s kidney.
According to a police spokesperson, a call was received on the emergency helpline 15 from a concerned citizen who reported hearing screams from a nearby house. Acting promptly, the police raided the location and discovered a man tied to a stretcher. He was immediately rescued.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been lured with a fake job offer. Upon his arrival at the location, he was given an intoxicating substance that rendered him semi-conscious. Medical tests had already been carried out to assess his suitability for a kidney removal procedure.

The gang allegedly planned to remove and sell the victim’s kidney to buyers within Pakistan and abroad. However, police apprehended four suspects on the spot and seized medical equipment used for the illegal transplant.
Further investigations are underway to trace and arrest other accomplices and facilitators linked to the operation.
City Police Officer (CPO) Khalid Mehmood Hamdani praised the swift action of the police team, stating that protecting the lives and safety of citizens is a top priority. He reaffirmed that such heinous crimes will be dealt with strictly and in accordance with the law.
