Police Arrest Domestic Servant, Recover Rs11m Stolen Gold

Islamabad: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Friday arrested a domestic servant and recovered gold ornaments worth Rs11 million stolen from a house in DHA Phase-V.
According to police, the operation was carried out under the supervision of Khanna Police Station SHO Aamir Hayat. During routine patrolling near Soham graveyard, officers apprehended a suspicious man later identified as Adnan Jameel. A search of his belongings led to the recovery of a white shopper bag containing gold ornaments.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing the jewellery from a house in DHA Phase-V where he was employed as a domestic servant. The recovered ornaments were confirmed as part of the property listed in case No. 221 registered at Sihala Police Station.
Interestingly, SHO Aamir Hayat had earlier served as SHO Sihala, the jurisdiction from where the theft was originally reported. Under his present leadership at Khanna Police Station, the stolen gold was traced and recovered.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, while commending the police team, said further investigation was underway. He urged citizens to ensure proper registration of domestic workers at the nearest police station to help prevent such incidents.
