Islamabad: The Press Network of Pakistan (PNP) has introduced an exciting opportunity for young individuals, particularly students in universities, colleges, and educational institutions nationwide, to enhance their understanding of the electoral process in anticipation of the upcoming general elections for the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies scheduled for February 8th, 2024.
The Young Voters Election Quiz Contest, as outlined by Sabahuddin Qazi, the head of the PNP Election Cell, aligns with clause (09) of the National Media Code of Conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
This clause encourages national media outlets to initiate civic and voter education programs throughout the election period, specifically targeting marginalized communities, including youth and women. The objective is to boost voter turnout and ensure active participation in the electoral process, as stated in a news release.
Qazi emphasized the significance of public engagement in the election process, underscoring the role of the right to vote in advancing the public agenda. Recognizing the need to inspire the young generation across Pakistan, he stressed the importance of their active involvement.
Participants demonstrating outstanding performance in the quiz will receive a Certificate of Achievement, and winners will be eligible for exciting prizes. The deadline for participating in the quiz is set for January 31, 2024.
