Pneumonia Tragedy: 14 Children Lose Lives in Punjab

Islamabad: Tragically, as many as 14 children succumbed to pneumonia in Punjab within the last 24 hours, as reported by the provincial health department on Wednesday.
Over the same period, 979 new pneumonia cases emerged across the province, with Lahore alone witnessing 197 new cases resulting in the loss of two young lives, according to a private news channel.
Throughout the ongoing year, Punjab has reported a total of 10,520 pneumonia cases, leading to 208 fatalities.
In Lahore, 1,570 cases were documented, with 47 resulting in deaths during the same period. Pneumonia, characterized by inflammation in the lungs’ air sacs, has become a pressing health issue, with symptoms including coughing with phlegm, fever, chills, and breathing difficulties, often culminating in severe consequences.
