Pneumonia Takes 77 Young Lives in South Punjab

Multan: In January, a total of 77 young lives succumbed to pneumonia in public hospitals across South Punjab, with 3,583 patients seeking medical attention at health facilities.
Health Department South spokesperson from Punjab said on Tuesday that at least 42 deaths were reported from Children Complex Multan, 18 from Bahawal Victoria Hospital, 14 from Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital, DG Khan, one from Sheikh Zayed Hospital Rahim Yar Khan, and two from Sir Sadiq Abbasi Hospital Bahawalpur, while no deaths were reported from Nishtar Hospital Multan by January 29.
The spokesperson stated that a total of 3,583 patients were sent to accident and emergency wards, adding that 2,689 patients recovered from pneumonia while 817 were still admitted.
