PMD Predicts Rain and Storms Across Pakistan

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Upper and Central Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir over the next 24 hours. Isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are also anticipated during this period.
Light rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms are expected in a few areas of North Balochistan, South Punjab, and Upper Sindh. Meanwhile, hot and dry weather is predicted for other parts of the country.
The synoptic situation indicates the influence of a westerly wave on the upper and central regions, likely to persist for the next two to three days.
Over the last 24 hours, most of the country experienced hot and dry weather, with central and southern parts experiencing very high temperatures. However, rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms occurred in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, Islamabad, North Balochistan, and Kashmir.
Rainfall measurements recorded include: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (Bannu 24mm, Dir 14mm, Malam Jabba 8mm, Kakul 7mm, Balakot 5mm, Saidu Sharif 4mm, Kalam, Chitral 3mm, Drosh 2mm), Punjab (Islamabad: Zero point 15mm, Saidpur 11mm, Golla 08mm, Bokra 07mm, Rawalpindi: Kachahri 11mm, Chaklala 14mm, Shams Abad 5mm, Murree 5mm, Sialkot 3mm, Attock 2mm), Kashmir (Rawalakot 20mm, Kotli 15mm, Garhi Dupatta 5mm, Muzaffarabad: Airport 4mm, City 3mm), Balochistan (Kalat 3mm, Barkhan 2mm).
