Islamabad/Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rain and gusty winds across upper parts of the country, while most of Sindh, including Karachi, will continue to experience hot and humid conditions.

According to the latest advisory issued on Sunday, partly cloudy weather is expected in Islamabad and surrounding areas, with intermittent rain and strong winds likely in several districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and northern Balochistan.

In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, widespread wind and rain activity has been forecast for Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Haripur.

The provincial capital Peshawar and other areas such as Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan are also expected to experience gusty winds and rainfall. Some regions may witness heavy downpours and hailstorms, potentially disrupting daily life and travel in mountainous areas, the PMD warned.

Northern and central Punjab will also see similar weather patterns. Rain and strong winds have been forecast in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhelum, Hafizabad, and Gujranwala.

Showers are also expected in Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, and Narowal, while Lahore, Kasur, Okara, and Sheikhupura may experience windy and rainy conditions. Southern districts including Bhakkar, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Layyah are likely to be affected as well.

In contrast, most areas of Sindh are expected to remain extremely hot and dry. Coastal regions may experience strong and dusty winds in the afternoon, which could affect visibility and air quality.

In Balochistan, hot and dry weather is predicted for the majority of the province. However, isolated rain and windstorms may occur in the northern and central parts, including Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Awaran, Loralai, and Lasbela.

The PMD has advised farmers, travelers, and residents of vulnerable areas to stay alert and follow weather updates. Authorities have also been urged to take precautionary measures to mitigate risks.

Hot and Humid Weather to Persist in Karachi

Meanwhile, Karachi will continue to experience hot and humid weather over the next 24 hours. Winds are blowing from the southwest at 10 kilometres per hour, with the current temperature at 33°C and humidity at 67 percent. Due to the high humidity, the temperature is expected to feel 3–4°C higher.

The maximum temperature today is likely to range between 37°C and 39°C. On Sunday, the city recorded a high of 37.2°C.
