PMD Forecasts Dense Fog in Punjab, KP, Upper Sindh

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted the persistence of dense fog in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh in the coming days.
The PMD issued cautionary advisory urging citizens to exercise caution amid the dense, foggy conditions on Thiursday.
Additionally, below-normal daytime temperatures are anticipated in most parts of Punjab due to the prevailing dense fog. Citizens are advised to stay informed about the weather conditions and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period. Meanwhile, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country, while it is very cold or partly cloudy in the northern parts.
However, light to moderate rain, wind, or thunderstorms with snowfall over mountains are likely in southwestern Balochistan.
Frost is likely to occur at a few places in the Pothohar region and Kashmir during the morning hours.
During the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while it was very cold in the northern parts.
However, partly cloudy weather prevailed in Gilgit-Baltistan. Dense fog and smog prevailed over plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.
The recorded lowest minimum temperatures during the day were as follows: Leh at -12°C, Skardu at -07°C, Kalam at -06°C, Gilgit, Gupis, and Astore at -05°C, Rawalakot at -04°C, and Kalat and Dir at -03°C.
