PM Wants Industrialists to Prioritize Improving Labor Class Conditions

Lahore: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the significant contribution of laborers and workers to the national economy during his address on International Labour Day.
He urged the affluent, businessmen, investors, and industrialists to prioritize enhancing the conditions of workers.
Despite facing economic challenges, he expressed determination to improve the situation through collective efforts and sincerity.
Prime Minister Sharif envisaged Pakistan’s transformation into a powerful nation through a fair system and the collective hard work of employers and employees, including workers.
He highlighted the government’s efforts to bring substantial changes to the national economy and recover funds lost to corruption.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reflected on his recent visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stating that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other Saudi leaders expressed their desire to witness Pakistan progressing. He announced that a delegation of Saudi businesspersons and investors would soon visit Pakistan, fostering increased business activities and job opportunities.
In anticipation of the upcoming fiscal budget, Prime Minister Sharif pledged to further alleviate the burden on the labor class.
He urged the business community and affluent individuals to extend their philanthropic efforts beyond their families and businesses, investing in education and health projects for the underprivileged, akin to initiatives in developed countries.
Highlighting the vision of Pakistan’s founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the establishment of a welfare state, where there would be no disparity between the rich and the poor.
He underscored the sacrifices made during the independence movement, envisioning a nation where everyone has equal opportunities to prosper based on their capabilities, thereby propelling the country towards progress.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to combating corruption, assuring that all governmental organs and state institutions would collectively work towards elevating Pakistan’s standing among the international community. He emphasized the indispensable role of laborers and workers, likening them to the wheels of progress alongside employers, whose combined efforts drive the nation towards prosperity.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by the common man due to rising prices and inflation, despite recent reductions in petroleum prices, the Prime Minister empathized with the plight of the labor class, who struggle to meet daily expenses including education and healthcare.
Drawing from the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the Prime Minister stressed the duty to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. He shared a personal anecdote about his father, who was a laborer, underscoring the importance of hard work and education.
Reflecting on the significance of Labor Day, the Prime Minister traced its origins to the Chicago incident and emphasized the value of hard work as highlighted in Quranic teachings and the Prophet’s (PBUH) life. He warmly welcomed workers and laborers to his residence, expressing joy in hosting them at the late Mian Muhammad Sharif’s residence.
Additionally, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of PM Youth Programme, highlighted the government’s initiatives such as the personal loan scheme for deserving children of workers and the establishment of Danish schools and Educational Endowment Funds during the Prime Minister’s tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab.
