Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday strongly condemned the brutal abduction and murder of nine bus passengers in the Sardhaka area of Balochistan, terming it a heinous act of terrorism carried out by the group Fitnatul-Hindustan.

The premier vowed to avenge the blood of the innocent and eliminate terrorism with full force.

“The blood of innocent people will not go unavenged. We will deal with terrorists with full force,” the prime minister said in a statement issued by the PM Office.

“The killing of unarmed civilians is blatant terrorism. With resolve, unity, and strength, we will uproot this scourge.”

According to officials, the attack occurred near the Dakai intersection on the National Highway between Loralai and Musakhel. Armed assailants reportedly intercepted passenger buses, identified passengers based on their identities, and forcibly abducted several individuals.

Loralai Commissioner Saadat Hussain confirmed that nine passengers — all residents of Punjab — were later found shot dead. Among them were two brothers, Usman Toor and Jabir Toor, who had been living in Quetta for work and were en route to Dunyapur to attend their father’s funeral.

Earlier reports indicated that similar attacks were launched by the same militant group in Kalat, Mastung, and Loralai districts. The Balochistan government spokesperson stated that coordinated search and rescue operations were underway in affected areas, with security forces responding swiftly to the incidents.

Balochistan government spokesman Shahid Rind affirmed that law enforcement agencies remained on high alert and were conducting extensive operations to apprehend the perpetrators. “Every effort is being made to ensure the protection of civilians. The government remains fully committed to safeguarding the lives of its people,” he stated.

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi also condemned the massacre, describing it as a “barbaric act against humanity.” He said the terrorists deliberately targeted passengers based on their ethnic identity, aiming to create sectarian division and undermine national cohesion.

“This cowardly act is a deep blow to our national solidarity,” Abbasi said. “We share the grief of the bereaved families. Our hearts are heavy, and our eyes are filled with tears.”

The minister prayed for the victims and their families and vowed that the perpetrators would soon be brought to justice. “The terrorists of Fitnatul-Hindustan are the worst enemies of humanity. They will not escape justice,” he added.

Security officials have reiterated that the safety and security of citizens remain a top priority, and efforts to dismantle terrorist networks will continue with full resolve.
