PM Shehbaz Expresses Gratitude to Azerbaijan for Standing by Pakistan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to express gratitude for Azerbaijan’s support during the recent regional crisis in South Asia, reaffirming the strong bilateral ties between the two countries.

During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz lauded President Aliyev’s steadfast support for Pakistan, describing it as a reflection of the close brotherly relations and deep affection the Azerbaijani leadership holds for the people of Pakistan. He also extended his appreciation to the Azerbaijani people for standing in solidarity with Pakistan during difficult times.

The Prime Minister briefed President Aliyev on Pakistan’s decision to agree to a ceasefire understanding with India, emphasizing the move as a step toward regional peace. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining the ceasefire and promoting stability in the region.

Highlighting the enduring friendship between the two nations, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan have consistently supported each other like true brothers.

He also extended a formal invitation to President Aliyev to visit Pakistan, which the Azerbaijani leader accepted graciously.

In response, President Aliyev congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz on Pakistan’s diplomatic success and welcomed the country’s commitment to peace. He reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Pakistan in all areas.
