PM Shehbaz ‘Deeply Touched’ by Saudi Welcome

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said he was “deeply touched” by the warm reception accorded to him by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman during his official visit to Riyadh.

In a post on his X account, the premier expressed gratitude for the unprecedented welcome, which included an aerial escort by Royal Saudi Air Force jets and a ceremonial guard of honour by the Saudi Armed Forces. He said the hospitality reflected the “abiding love and mutual respect” between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Shehbaz described his talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as “most cordial,” covering a wide range of issues including regional challenges and bilateral cooperation. He praised the Saudi leader’s vision and role in guiding the Muslim world.

On the economic front, the prime minister noted the crown prince’s consistent support for Pakistan and his keen interest in expanding Saudi investment, trade, and business ties.

“It is my fervent prayer that Pakistan–Saudi Arabia’s friendship continues to flourish and attain new heights of glory. Inshallah,” he added.
