News Desk
Islamabad: In a significant step toward resolving long-standing delays in Islamabad’s housing sectors, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Saturday reviewed development progress in multiple new sectors, with plot possession for allottees expected to begin soon — in some cases after decades of waiting.
The review meeting was chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who directed officials to expedite remaining work and ensure that developed plots are handed over without further delay.
Officials informed the meeting that basic infrastructure in Sector C-14 is nearing completion, and plots are almost ready for possession. The process of handing over plots to allottees is expected to commence shortly.
The chairman instructed authorities to complete installation of street signboards and ensure plot locations are accurately marked on Google Maps to facilitate transparency and ease for owners.

Regarding Sector E-12, the meeting was told that infrastructure development in sub-sectors 1 and 2 has been completed, and plots are ready for handover. Randhawa directed that the main entrance to the sector be clearly established and that illegal constructions and encroachments be removed strictly in accordance with the law. He also ordered early completion of digital mapping of all plots.
In Sector I-12, development work is largely complete, with most residential and commercial plots prepared. Authorities said the formal process of granting possession would begin soon.
Emphasising citizen relief, the CDA chairman said providing possession of developed plots remains a top priority of the authority. He noted that in some new sectors, allottees would finally receive possession after decades of delay.
Randhawa further directed officials to accelerate remaining development activities, ensure provision of essential amenities, and make plot location information easily accessible to allottees to enhance transparency and public trust.
