Pindi Traffic Police Crackdown On Smoke Emissions For Cleaner Environment

Rawalpindi: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Taimur Khan has issued clear directives to all circle In-charges, urging them to enforce strict measures against vehicles emitting smoke.
The CTO emphasized that vehicles emitting smoke not only contribute to environmental pollution and respiratory issues but also pose a risk of road accidents. He instructed the responsible officers to fulfill their duty in mitigating environmental pollution.
Furthermore, he informed that the City Traffic Police (CTP) has been conducting special awareness campaigns to educate citizens about traffic regulations and road safety. The Education Wing of the Traffic Police is actively working to promote awareness, ensuring safer journeys.
Taimur Khan urged the public to cooperate with traffic wardens who are there to assist them. Additionally, a dedicated squad is available through Helpline 1915 to provide assistance to citizens.
According to a spokesperson, the CTP, under the directives of Additional Inspector General of Traffic Mirza Faran Baig will enforce legal actions against traffic rule violators, including vehicles emitting smoke. Special operations against smoke-emitting vehicles will result in fines and vehicle impoundment. Two-stroke rickshaws and motorcycles will also face enforcement actions.
