PDMA Issues Rain Alert for Punjab

Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a rain alert for various districts across the province, including Lahore.
According to the PDMA, heavy winds and thundershowers are expected from September 26 to October 1 in most districts of Punjab. Rain is forecast for Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, and Hafizabad.
Additionally, starting from September 27, strong winds and rain are also expected in Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, and Bhakkar.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia has instructed deputy commissioners across the province to remain on high alert.
Relevant departments have also been advised to prepare for potential emergency situations. The district emergency operation centers and the provincial control room are on 24/7 alert to monitor the situation.
The public has been urged to stay away from dilapidated buildings, take extra care of children, and avoid areas where water may collect in low-lying regions.
