The Met Office has cautioned that due to foggy conditions, temperatures could drop by 3 to 5 °C, potentially causing disruptions in flight, railway, highway, and motorway operations. These conditions may also lead to health issues, and a significant temperature drop is expected after the wet spell.
In response to the Met Office’s predictions, the PDMA has issued alerts to all district governments, urging them to take precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents. District administrations have been advised to keep travelers informed about weather conditions and ensure the availability of emergency services, staff, and machinery to address any emergencies.
Furthermore, the NH&MP and traffic police have been instructed to issue smog and fog advisories, regulate traffic during peak hours, and redirect traffic in affected areas to prevent congestion.
The PDMA has also recommended that farmers take necessary precautions to protect crops from adverse effects caused by temperature drops.
As a safety measure, the general public has been advised to limit outdoor activities and use face masks when going outside.
