Patriotic Rally at FJWU Marks Yum-e-Tashakur, Honors Military Valor

Rawalpindi: Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) observed Yum-e-Tashakur with nationalistic fervor, paying tribute to the valor, dedication, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The day-long celebration served as a powerful reminder of the Armed Forces’ pivotal role in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and unity.
Addressing a gathering of students, faculty, and staff, Vice Chancellor Dr Bushra Mirza expressed deep appreciation for the Armed Forces. “Today, we come together in gratitude and pride to honor our Armed Forces — the fearless guardians of our homeland.
Their courage, discipline, and selfless devotion are the pillars of our sovereignty. At FJWU, we are committed to instilling these noble values in our students, empowering them to serve the nation with dedication and honor,” she said.
The commemorations began with a solemn Flag Hoisting Ceremony, where the national flag was raised amid the playing of national anthems and patriotic melodies, evoking emotions of unity and pride.
A Patriotic Rally followed, with students, faculty, and staff — including the Vice Chancellor — marching together across the campus. Waving national flags and chanting slogans such as “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Long Live the Pakistan Armed Forces,” the rally reflected unwavering support for the military and reinforced a shared national identity.
Special prayers were offered for the peace, prosperity, and strength of Pakistan. Attendees remembered the sacrifices of the armed forces and prayed for continued stability and national integrity.
In her concluding remarks, Dr Bushra Mirza reaffirmed the university’s solidarity with the Armed Forces and praised their unrelenting service to the nation.
“The FJWU community stands united with our defenders in uniform. We honor their sacrifices and remain committed to nurturing students who are proud of their heritage and conscious of their responsibilities as citizens of Pakistan.”
The ceremony ended with emotional reflections, chants of Pakistan Zindabad, and a renewed pledge to uphold the ideals of patriotism, peace, and national service.
Fatima Jinnah Women University continues to stand at the forefront of higher education, fostering a spirit of loyalty, unity, and public service among the women of Pakistan.
