Palace Issues Major Update on Prince William’s Plans

London: Buckingham Palace on Friday announced that Prince William, the Prince of Wales, will inaugurate the Global Humanitarian Memorial in London next week following private discussions with King Charles III in Scotland.

According to the palace statement, “On October 1, 2025, the Prince of Wales will launch the Global Humanitarian Memorial for aid workers at Gunnersbury Park, London.”

The announcement comes after British media reports revealed that Prince William recently made an unpublicized trip to Balmoral to meet King Charles. The Daily Mail published photographs of William arriving at Aberdeen Airport on a private jet, while The Telegraph described the stay as “informal” and not part of any scheduled royal program.

Speculation in UK media suggests that the King and the heir to the throne also discussed the ongoing controversy surrounding Prince Andrew and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, over their links with Jeffrey Epstein. Reports claim William has urged his father to distance the monarchy from Andrew and Sarah in light of recent revelations.

Earlier this week, Kensington Palace also confirmed Prince William’s engagement, noting his participation in the memorial launch that will honor humanitarian aid workers worldwide.

Royal commentator Richard Palmer further shared the official palace announcement on social media, underlining the significance of the event as the first global tribute of its kind.
