Pakistani Rupee Slightly Drops Against US Dollar

Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee experienced a slight decline, falling by 09 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading. The rupee closed at Rs 278.64, compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs 278.55.

In the open market, the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) reported that the dollar was being bought at Rs 279.30 and sold at Rs 280.40.

Meanwhile, the Euro saw a minor increase, gaining 10 paisa to close at Rs 304.31, up from Rs 304.21 the previous day, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese yen remained steady, closing at Rs 1.89. However, the British Pound rose by 29 paisa, trading at Rs 355.78 compared to the previous close of Rs 355.49.

Additionally, the exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal saw small increases of 03 paisa and 02 paisa, closing at Rs 75.86 and Rs 74.23, respectively.
