Islamabad: Pakistan’s potential T20 World Cup players recently had an engagement at the US Embassy, where they met with the US Ambassador.

Reports suggest that the players underwent biometric procedures for American visa issuance during this visit. It’s anticipated that the potential players and the team management will have their passports returned by May 1 after the completion of these procedures.

Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi was reportedly present at the American Embassy alongside the players, while members of the National Selection Committee, including Mohammad Yousuf and Wahab Riaz, also attended the event.

Additionally, national players participated in a cricket activity organized at the American Embassy, with the venue shifted from outdoors to indoors due to rain in Islamabad.

Sources report that Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, and Shaheen Afridi had a friendly bowling session with the American ambassador, while Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi presented the Pakistan cricket team’s shirt to the ambassador.

Additionally, the players enjoyed taking pictures with the US Ambassador and employees at the US Embassy, followed by a lunch gathering.

The American ambassador even requested autographs from the national players, though it was noted that captain Babar Azam did not accompany the team to the American embassy.

Regarding the T20 World Cup, PCB applied for visas for 30 players and officials to participate in the event hosted in the US.
