Islamabad: Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity company, reported a significant increase in cyber attacks within Pakistan, with a 17 percent increase compared to the previous year.
The company disclosed this information during the 9th Cyber Security Conference held in Islamabad, where discussions focused on the growing cybersecurity challenges in the country.
According to Kaspersky’s telemetry, the overall number of cyber threats in Pakistan rose by 17 percent in 2023 compared to 2022, as outlined in a company release.
Additionally, the cybersecurity firm successfully thwarted a total of 16 million cyber attacks targeting Pakistan throughout the year.
During the conference, experts likely delved into the evolving nature of cyber threats and the importance of enhancing cybersecurity measures in response to the escalating attacks.
The information presented by Kaspersky highlights the critical need for heightened cybersecurity awareness and measures to protect individuals, organizations, and critical infrastructure in Pakistan.
In 2023 alone, Kaspersky played a crucial role in preventing 1.6 million cyber attacks in the country.
