Pakistan Receives First Image from iCube Qamar

Islamabad: Pakistan has received the initial image from its newly launched space mission, iCube Qamar, conducted in collaboration with China.
As per Sparco reports, iCube Qamar completed three orbits around the moon.
Successfully entering lunar orbit on May 8th, Pakistan’s satellite is slated to remain in orbit for three to six months, during which it will capture images of the moon’s surface.

The Institute of Space Technology confirms that Qamar, Pakistan’s first satellite to orbit the moon, completes its orbit in 12 hours.
Positioned at a distance of 200 km from the lunar surface, iCube Qamar will capture images while in orbit. Signals from iCube Qamar will traverse a distance of 360,000 to 400,000 km to reach Earth for reception.
Remember that iCube Qamar was launched alongside China’s Chang’e 6 mission on May 3 from the Hainan Space Launch Site. The objective of China’s Chang’e 6 mission is to gather samples from the lunar surface.
