Pakistan Moves Toward AI Integration in Education

Islamabad: A high-level meeting was held on Thursday at the office of the Parliamentary Secretary for Education to discuss Pakistan’s strategic direction in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the national education system and exploring technological interventions in public service sectors.

The session focused on embedding AI across all levels of education—from primary to university—and fostering international collaboration to enhance Pakistan’s education and health sectors.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad, a renowned IT and AI expert currently based in Australia, who expressed a strong commitment to advancing Pakistan’s technological landscape. He emphasized the urgent need to develop and implement an AI curriculum under the Ministry of Federal Education to equip students with future-ready skills.

“Pakistan must respond proactively to the dynamic changes in technology. By embedding AI into our education system, we can prepare our youth to be leaders, innovators, and valuable contributors to the global economy,” Dr. Ahmad stated.

Also present was Shamshad Ahmed Khan, a respected Pakistani professional based in Kuwait, who shared his vision of improving the education and health sectors through strategic consultation and international development partnerships. He stressed the value of global collaboration in driving transformative change in Pakistan’s public services.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s educational and technological capabilities, with follow-up actions planned in coordination with international experts and relevant government institutions.
