Pakistan-India Clash Set for August 19 in World Cup

Islamabad: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has unveiled the match schedule for the upcoming FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, with Pakistan set to begin its campaign against England in a challenging group-stage lineup.

The tournament will be held from August 15 to 30, bringing together the world’s top teams across venues in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Pakistan will open its campaign on August 15 against England men’s national field hockey team at the Wagener Hockey Stadium in Amstelveen. The match is scheduled to begin at 10:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).

The Green Shirts will play their second group match against Wales men’s national field hockey team on August 17 at the same venue, with the match set to start at 3:30 pm PST.

One of the most anticipated fixtures of the tournament will see Pakistan take on arch-rivals India men’s national field hockey team on August 19. The high-profile clash will also be held at the Wagener Hockey Stadium and is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm PST.

The 2026 World Cup is expected to deliver top-quality hockey, with fans likely to witness intense and competitive encounters throughout the event.

Pakistan, which recently secured qualification for the mega event, will be aiming to make a strong impression and advance to the knockout stage.
