Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Friday shared details of the ongoing Operation Ghazb-ul-Haq, stating that hundreds of militants linked to Fitna Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban have been killed or injured during the operation.

In a statement, the minister said that 663 Fitna Khawarij and Afghan Taliban militants have been killed so far, while more than 887 others have been injured during the military campaign.

According to Tarar, the operation has also resulted in the destruction of 249 militant check posts, while 44 additional check posts were captured and later destroyed by Pakistani forces.

He further said that 224 tanks, armored vehicles and artillery pieces used by militants have been destroyed since the start of the operation.

The information minister added that 70 locations linked to terrorist infrastructure in Afghanistan were targeted in airstrikes. He said that Pakistan carried out strikes on the night between March 12 and 13, targeting militant installations across several areas in Afghanistan.

Tarar said that the airstrikes focused on terrorists’ logistical bases and training camps in Kabul, Paktia and Kandahar.

The minister stressed that no civilian population or civil infrastructure was targeted during Operation Ghazb-ul-Haq, adding that the operation was conducted with precision against militant elements.

He also claimed that false propaganda was being spread by some officials of the Afghan interim government and certain media outlets regarding the operation.

Pakistan says the operation is aimed at dismantling militant networks responsible for cross-border attacks and ensuring security along the frontier.
