Pakistan Crushes India to Reach Snooker Final

Karachi: Pakistan’s experienced duo of Muhammad Asif and Asjad Iqbal defeated India’s Pankaj Advani and Brijesh Damani 3-1 in the semi-final of the Team Snooker World Cup at the Active Oman Sports and Entertainment Hub in Muscat on Saturday.
Reigning International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) world champion Muhammad Asif led Pakistan’s charge, dominating the second frame with a 120-23 victory over Damani, highlighted by a brilliant 77-point break to level the contest at 1-1.

In the subsequent doubles frame, Pakistan secured a 75-47 win to take the lead. Asif continued his impressive form in the fourth frame, defeating Advani 73-9 to give Pakistan an unassailable 3-1 lead, prompting the final frame between Asjad and Damani to be called off.
Earlier, Pakistan booked their semi-final spot with a commanding 3-0 victory over Qatar in the quarter-final. Asjad opened with a 92-point win over Ali Alobaidli, followed by Asif’s 83-0 triumph against Ahmed Saif. The duo then clinched the doubles frame 79-26 to complete a one-sided victory.
Pakistan will face Hong Kong China 2 in the Team Snooker World Cup final.
