Pakistan Condemns Israeli Action Against Global Flotilla

News Desk

Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s action to block the Global Sumud Flotilla from proceeding towards its mission, terming it a violation of international law and an attack on a humanitarian initiative.

In a statement on Thursday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said that the safety and well-being of Pakistani citizens aboard the flotilla remains the government’s foremost concern.

“The flotilla is a humanitarian mission and a symbol of global solidarity and moral resolve,” the spokesperson said, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring the protection and secure return of its citizens.

He recalled that on September 16, Pakistan, along with 15 other countries, had issued a joint statement expressing concern over the security of the flotilla. He added that Pakistan remains in close contact with international partners to secure the release of hostages and is actively working for their safe return.

The spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan does not recognise Israel and continues to coordinate with allied countries to safeguard its citizens involved in the humanitarian mission.
