Pakistan Collapse to Record Low in T20 Loss to Bangladesh

Islamabad: Pakistan suffered a disastrous start to their T20I series against Bangladesh on Sunday, crashing to just 110 all out their lowest-ever total against the Tigers in T20Is at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.

Adding to the ignominy, it was the first time Pakistan had ever been bowled out completely by Bangladesh in a T20I, marking two unwanted records for the visitors.

Opting to bat first, Pakistan began with some promise as openers Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub found early boundaries. However, the momentum quickly evaporated. Saim was dismissed for 6 in the second over by Taskin Ahmed, sparking a dramatic collapse. Mohammad Haris tried to counterpunch but fell for just 5 in the next over, leaving Pakistan reeling at 32-2.

Captain Agha Salman failed to steady the innings, departing for 3 off 9 balls. The middle order crumbled, with Hassan Nawaz falling for a duck and a chaotic run-out sending Mohammad Nawaz back, reducing Pakistan to 46-5 inside eight overs.

Fakhar Zaman was the lone resistance, scoring a fighting 44 off 34 balls, but a mix-up with Khushdil Shah led to yet another needless run-out. Brief late-order resistance came from Abbas Afridi, who struck three sixes in a 22-run cameo, and Khushdil’s 17, but Bangladesh’s bowlers wrapped up the innings swiftly.

Taskin Ahmed took three wickets, Mustafizur Rahman claimed two, and Mahedi Hasan and Tanzim Hasan Sakib each added one, as Bangladesh bowled out Pakistan in just 19.1 overs with sharp, disciplined bowling and alert fielding.

With momentum now firmly on their side, Bangladesh will aim to press their advantage in the upcoming matches, while Pakistan face urgent questions and must regroup quickly to avoid a deeper slump in the series.
