Pakistan Army Inducts Advanced Z-10ME Attack Helicopters

Rawalpindi: Pakistan Army has formally inducted the cutting-edge Z-10ME attack helicopters into its aviation fleet, marking a significant step forward in its modernization drive.

The induction ceremony was presided over by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir during his visit to Multan Garrison, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

Described as a state-of-the-art, all-weather platform, the Z-10ME is equipped with advanced radar systems and modern electronic warfare suites.

The aircraft is capable of conducting precision strike operations both day and night, significantly enhancing the Army’s ability to neutralize a range of aerial and ground threats.

The COAS also witnessed a firepower demonstration by the newly inducted helicopters at the Muzaffargarh Field Firing Ranges.

“The induction of this potent system marks a major leap in the modernisation of Army Aviation, reinforcing its integrated battlefield response and capacity to deliver decisive effects against potential adversaries,” the ISPR statement read.

During his interaction with troops, Field Marshal Munir praised their high morale, professionalism, and operational skill. He lauded the successful demonstration of combined arms tactics, saying it reflected the Army’s resolve to maintain a strategic edge in the face of evolving warfare dynamics.

The Army Chief was also briefed on the formation’s operational preparedness and ongoing training activities, expressing satisfaction with the high standards of readiness.

Later, Field Marshal Munir held an interactive session with members of academia and civil society. In his address, he emphasized the importance of national unity, civil-military harmony, and a comprehensive whole-of-nation approach to counter hybrid threats and promote social cohesion.

The Z-10ME helicopter induction is expected to significantly strengthen Pakistan’s aerial combat capabilities and contribute to its overall defense preparedness amid regional and global security challenges.
