Pakistan Aiming for Victory Against England: Shan Masood

Multan: Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has expressed his determination to lead the team to victory in the upcoming Test series against England.
Speaking at a press conference at Multan Cricket Stadium, Masood announced that the playing XI has been finalized, indicating that the squad is fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
The selected lineup features promising talents such as Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Saud Shakeel, Babar Azam, and pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi. Complementing the strong core are Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Aamir Jamal, and Salman Ali, ensuring a well-rounded team.
Masood dismissed concerns about England’s strength due to the absence of their captain, Ben Stokes, stating that their 16-member squad is filled with high-quality players. “We came close to victory in the last series against England but fell short. This time, we will give our best to secure a win,” he asserted.
Emphasizing their familiarity with England’s style of play, Masood mentioned that the team has devised a strategic plan. He highlighted Aamir Jamal’s inclusion as a significant boost, noting, “You cannot plan a Test match like a one-day game; it’s a five-day contest that requires a long-term strategy.”
Reflecting on Pakistan’s recent performance against Bangladesh, Masood acknowledged that the batting struggled after the seventh wicket, particularly missing Aamir Jamal’s contribution. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about the team’s chances in the upcoming series.
The captain also noted that while England’s squad may feature inexperienced players, they will not be underestimated. He expressed hope that Shaheen Afridi, who bowled extensively during the Champions Cup, has regained his form and will be a crucial asset in the series.
With a strong squad and a clear strategy, Pakistan is set to take on England in what promises to be an exciting Test series.
