Islamabad: Pakistan has accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Peace Board aimed at establishing lasting peace in Gaza, the Foreign Office confirmed on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accepted the invitation, aligning Pakistan with ongoing international efforts to support the implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan under the United Nations Security Council framework.

The statement emphasized Pakistan’s expectation that the initiative will contribute to the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. “A credible and time-bound political process in accordance with international legality and relevant UN resolutions is indispensable,” it said.
Pakistan also reiterated its support for the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous Palestinian state within pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
The Foreign Office affirmed that Pakistan will play a constructive role as a member of the Peace Board, aiming to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The United Arab Emirates and Turkey have previously announced their membership in the Peace Board.
