Rawalpindi: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Friday accused India of actively sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan and using its intelligence apparatus to destabilize the country.
Addressing foreign journalists alongside Director General Public Relations of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed, and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations), Rear Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, the DG ISPR claimed that the Indian government was directly involved in supporting terrorist activities in Pakistan.
“India is directly involved in terrorism in Pakistan,” he said, presenting video and audio evidence allegedly proving the involvement of Indian government officials and intelligence agencies in training, funding, and arming terrorist groups operating within Pakistani territory.
Lt Gen Chaudhry revealed that several terrorists captured in Pakistan had confessed to receiving material support and training from Indian intelligence agencies. He also shared an audio clip in which Indian officers reportedly admit to running a terror network in Lahore and Balochistan.
“Terrorist camps are operating inside India, and the confessions of captured operatives confirm India’s sponsorship of terrorists in Balochistan,” he said, adding that India was also involved in terrorist activities beyond Pakistan, including in Canada.
He specifically pointed to India’s alleged support for militant groups like “Fitna al Khawarij,” and demanded that the international community begin asking tough questions of the Indian government.
Pahalgam Attack a Diversion Tactic
Commenting on the recent Pahalgam incident in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the DG ISPR said India accused Pakistan of involvement without offering any concrete evidence. He called the move a distraction aimed at shifting attention from the Pakistani military’s ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
“How did Indian authorities conclude Pakistan’s involvement just minutes after the incident?” he questioned. “The FIR was filed by 2:30 p.m. — merely 10 minutes after the attack ended at 2:20 p.m. — a feat that defies logic and suggests a pre-planned narrative.”
He also criticized Indian media for allegedly broadcasting footage of the Jaffer Express bombing immediately after the incident, linking it to the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), whose spokesperson was aired live during the attack. “Who recorded the video and shared it with Indian media? It points to a clear connection,” he said.
India’s Media Manipulation
Lt Gen Chaudhry said India has a pattern of blaming Pakistan for attacks without evidence to serve political ends, often leading to state violence against Kashmiri Muslims. “They use these incidents for domestic political gains and label innocent Kashmiris as terrorists.”
He showed video clips of Indian citizens, politicians, and even a former governor of IIOJK questioning the Indian government’s narrative, including remarks blaming New Delhi for orchestrating the 2019 Pulwama attack.
“India must stop its blame game. If there is credible evidence, let it be examined by a neutral international commission,” he urged.
The DG ISPR further accused Indian forces of targeting civilians, including women and children, across the Line of Control (LoC), and of carrying out fake encounters. He cited a recent case where two elderly civilians from Azad Kashmir were falsely portrayed as Pakistani terrorists, with weapons planted on them post-mortem.
“These kinds of staged operations are a common tactic used to manipulate public opinion,” he said.
Cyber Warfare and Drone Intrusions
Lt Gen Chaudhry said India is also engaged in information warfare, blocking thousands of social media accounts, including Pakistani-based platforms, to suppress alternative narratives.
He revealed that Pakistan’s military has so far shot down 77 Israeli-manufactured drones allegedly sent by India for surveillance and sabotage. “We have neutralised each one, and none have made it back. We will continue to defend our airspace resolutely.”
The press briefing concluded with a stern warning from the DG ISPR, urging the Indian government to cease its covert warfare and allow independent investigations into all cross-border incidents.
