Islamabad: A recent study conducted by American experts found that blood pressure and stress, i.e., anxiety, among employees are caused by the problems they face in the office.

According to the medical journal of the American Heart Association, the report found that 319 of the 1,240 volunteers were diagnosed with high blood pressure after 8 years, and the age of such volunteers was up to 45 years, although some volunteers were as young as 54.

In addition, severe stress, anger, and stress were also diagnosed in these volunteers, which led to increased inflammation in the body.

The research was started in 2004 by American experts to find out the causes of high blood pressure in working professionals, and more than 1240 people volunteered. Half of the volunteers were women, and all the volunteers were highly educated and later got jobs in various institutions.

The study was continued for 8 years, and all the volunteers were followed up until 2014. Information about diet, lifestyle, alcohol consumption, and smoking was obtained from them, including checking their blood pressure.

Apart from this, these people were also asked about the treatment they received in offices or institutions during their employment.

Most of the volunteers involved in the study were leading a healthy lifestyle, and most of them were neither smokers nor drinkers, but they still developed high blood pressure.

When the experts questioned the volunteers suffering from high blood pressure about the problems they faced in the offices, it was found that all the people were victims of ill-treatment; they were not treated well in the office or institutions.

Similarly, people who experienced less mistreatment in offices had lower blood pressure and stress levels.

According to experts, both high blood pressure and stress together can cause serious diseases like heart disease, so by improving the rules and regulations of offices, employees can be protected from diseases.
