Over 245 Kg Drugs Seized, 12 Arrested in ANF Raids

Islamabad: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized over 245 kilograms of narcotics and arrested 12 suspected drug traffickers during nine separate operations conducted across the country, according to a spokesperson from ANF Headquarters.

The recovered drugs, with an estimated street value exceeding Rs 25 million, include hashish, ice (crystal meth), and opium.

In one operation near a college along the Karakoram Highway in Mansehra, ANF recovered 700 grams of hashish and arrested one suspect. Similarly, in Jamshoro, Sindh, two kilograms of ice were recovered from a passenger traveling in public transport near a university. The suspect later confessed to supplying drugs to students at educational institutions.

In Peshawar, 12 kilograms of hashish were seized from two women during a raid near Ring Road. Another woman was apprehended at the Jamshoro bus stop with three kilograms of ice.

At RCD Road in Hub, 21.6 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a trailer, and two individuals were taken into custody. In Sialkot, near Othian, ANF recovered five kilograms of ice, 3.6 kilograms of opium, and 3.6 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle, arresting two suspects during the operation.

A motorcyclist in Sheikhupura was caught with 1,000 grams of hashish and 500 grams of opium near Pholon Wala Chowk. In one of the largest drug hauls, ANF intercepted a vehicle near the M-2 Motorway at Chakri Interchange and seized 142.74 kilograms of hashish and 37.82 kilograms of opium, arresting one individual.

In a separate operation along the Karakoram Highway, 12 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle, and one more suspect was apprehended.

All cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) Act, and investigations are underway, the spokesperson added.

The ANF reiterated its commitment to combating the drug menace and emphasized continued efforts to dismantle trafficking networks, especially those targeting youth and educational institutions.
