Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have devised a comprehensive security plan for the main Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession on 12th Rabi-ul-Awal (September 17), ensuring strict patrolling throughout the procession and other religious gatherings across the city.
Following the directives of Inspector General (IG) ICT Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Ali Raza, ICT Police will implement extensive security and patrolling measures.
According to the police spokesperson, DIG Syed Ali Raza has instructed all SPs, SDPOs, SHOs, and other police officials to visit the procession routes to ensure effective coordination among security personnel.
He mentioned that police officers will provide guidance and boost the morale of personnel to help them perform their duties responsibly. Over 2,000 police personnel, including specialized commando teams, will be deployed for security purposes.
SPs will also visit various police posts along the procession route to monitor security and brief officers on effective measures.
Traffic police will be deployed to manage traffic flow, ensuring minimal disruptions. Walk-through gates will be installed at all entry points of the procession, and participants will be screened with metal detectors. Each participant will undergo a full-body search before entering the procession area.
Snipers will be stationed on rooftops along the procession route to provide additional security, while streets, roads, and other routes along the path will be sealed for safety. All police stations will be actively involved in security and patrolling duties in their respective areas.
DIG Syed Ali Raza emphasized that protecting lives and property is the police’s top priority, and the ICT Police are committed to providing fool-proof security for Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
