Over 138,000 Lights Illuminate Prophet’s Mosque

Islamabad: The lighting of the Prophet’s Mosque is a stunning example of Islamic architectural art.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the mosque’s lighting features a variety of light units, chandeliers, and lanterns adorned with the name of Allah and Arabic calligraphy, reflecting Islamic artistic traditions.
This elaborate lighting design not only enhances the mosque’s beauty but also elevates it to the status of a magnificent artistic masterpiece.
The Prophet’s Mosque is equipped with over 30 types of lighting units, totaling more than 138,000 individual lights.
Among the most notable features are 300 chandeliers of various sizes and over 10,000 lighting units inscribed with the name of Allah. These units are strategically placed in the upper corners of architectural arches and corridors throughout the mosque and its courtyards.
The General Authority for the Care of the Prophet’s Mosque is committed to implementing globally recognized lighting standards.
This initiative reflects the dedication of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to enhancing the services provided at the Prophet’s Mosque.
Meanwhile, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has recently introduced golf carts to support disabled visitors.
As reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), these carts are designed to transport disabled individuals to and from the gates of the Grand Mosque, ensuring their comfort and ease while performing their rituals.
This service underscores the authority’s commitment to accessibility and visitor convenience.
