Peshawar: In order to improve the provision of municipal services in the newly merged districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), a software app ‘Osho’ has been developed for the redressal of public complaints.

The app is named the Pashto word ‘Osho’ which means ‘done’. It will be used on a trial basis in the merged district of Orakzai in the first phase. Later on, it will be introduced in all the other merged districts.

The Newly Merged District Orkazai Deputy Commissioner Tayyab Abdullah and his team developed the application and it was officially inaugurated yesterday by Commissioner Kohat Division Muhammad Ali Shah in his office.

KP Minister for Newly Merged Districts Affairs, Industry, Commerce, and Technical Education, Dr Aamir Abdullah said that through this app, the citizens will bring their complaints regarding sanitation and other required municipal services to the notice of relevant administration in an easy way, and it will try to address them on time.

DC Orakzai said that the Osho’ app is the first of its kind in the entire country and the province, through which complaints regarding the provision of municipal services can be sent to the relevant departments and administration for redressal of public grievances through a single click, while efforts will be made to resolve them in a timely manner.

Tayyab Abdullah further said that the app will initially allow uploading of images related to municipal services such as the removal of sewerage, garbage, and roadside debris or the removal of construction materials.

Meanwhile, the district administration will task the Municipal Administration and Communication and Works Department with the redressal of public grievances in this regard.

Commissioner Ali stated that the app is an important step in making Kohat Division clean and green, and after its success, it will be implemented in all four districts of the division.
