Islamabad: Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo has launched its most affordable smartphone in South Africa, the Oppo A6x, priced at R1,999. The company says the release completes its local lineup, spanning premium flagships to entry-level devices.

The launch follows the recent introduction of Oppo’s high-end Find X9 Pro in South Africa, marking the brand’s first foray into the premium segment in the country.

Designed for everyday use, the A6x targets users who need reliable performance for work, learning, and staying connected at a lower price point.

The device comes equipped with a 6,100mAh battery, 6.75-inch display, dual cameras, IP54 dust and water resistance, and a drop-resistant build. The display supports a 90Hz refresh rate, while the camera setup includes a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

“At this time of year, South Africans are looking for gifts that offer real value,” said Bradley Young, Oppo SA head of retail. “The Oppo A6x is a phone that families, students, and first-time users can rely on, at a price that’s affordable without compromising on quality.”

With the addition of the A6x, Oppo now offers smartphones across every price segment in South Africa, from premium flagships to budget-friendly options for first-time users.
