OpenAI Releases Reasoning AI with Focus on Safety, Accuracy

San Francisco: OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, unveiled a new series of artificial intelligence models on Thursday aimed at improving the accuracy and utility of generative AI chatbots by incorporating more thorough reasoning processes.

The new models, termed OpenAI o1-Preview, are designed to handle complex tasks and address challenging problems in areas such as science, coding, and mathematics—areas where previous models have faced criticism for inconsistent performance.

Unlike their predecessors, these models are trained to refine their thinking processes, explore various methods, and identify errors before delivering a final response.

This release coincides with OpenAI’s efforts to raise funds, potentially valuing the company at around $150 billion, which would position it as one of the world’s most valuable private enterprises, according to US media reports.
