Nvidia CEO Surpasses Ambani As Asia’s Richest, Ranks 2nd Globally

News Desk

Dubai: Forbes magazine reports that Nvidia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang, an American tech titan, has surpassed Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani to become the richest person in Asia with a net worth of $119 billion.

Jensen is now the second richest person globally, trailing only former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. Huang now joins an elite group of people with fortunes exceeding $100 billion

Chinese-American Huang, who co-founded Nvidia in 1993 and currently serves as its president and CEO, has seen his wealth surge by an extraordinary 2,280 per cent over the past five years. This remarkable growth is attributed to Nvidia’s dominance in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and its explosive market performance, making it one of the world’s most valuable public companies with a market capitalisation of $3.33 trillion.

Nvidia’s shares rose by over 3 per cent on June 18, adding more than $4 billion to Huang’s net worth. At the beginning of 2024, his net worth was estimated at $77 billion. The recent surge in Nvidia’s market value has catapulted him past Ambani on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest individuals.
