DG Khan: The district administration has devised a plan to build 40 model villages in DG Khan, each with state-of-the-art sewerage and cleanliness facilities.

In this regard, a meeting was held under the auspices of the ‘Now Villages Will Shine’ agenda with Commissioner Dr Nasir Mehmood Bashir.

More than 40 model villages would be built to ensure better cleanliness, with sewerage systems pretty much in place in urban areas of the city.

Price control, adoptive schools, excel load management, the auction of disordered vehicles and waste material, among other issues, were discussed in the meeting.

Dr Nasir Mehmood insisted on providing him with a list of illegal housing colonies operating across the district to take action.

Dr Bashir directed the building of hostels for women in every district of the division.

Commissioner also asked the concerned authority to build separate washrooms for women and men at petrol pumps every 20 kilometres on highways.

The health and education sectors are where DG Khan’s division stands out the most; however, they still need improvement, Nasir added.  Agencies/APP
