Islamabad: The International Cricket Council (ICC) released its latest T20I player rankings on Wednesday, highlighting a concerning trend for Pakistan as no national bowler features among the top 10 globally.

In the batting category, Pakistan’s star players continue to slide. Former captain Babar Azam is now ranked 12th, while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has dropped to 13th. Both players have historically anchored Pakistan’s T20I performances but are currently trailing behind Australia’s Travis Head, who tops the batting chart, followed by India’s Abhishek Sharma in second place.

The absence of Pakistani representation is even more stark in the bowlers’ rankings. No Pakistani bowler is listed in the top 10, with Haris Rauf placed at 19th and Abbas Afridi at 20th. New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy holds the top position, while England’s Adil Rashid has climbed to second.

In the all-rounders’ category, India’s Hardik Pandya continues to dominate, further underlining Pakistan’s diminishing presence in key performance metrics across T20I cricket.

The rankings raise pressing questions about the current form and future strategy of Pakistan’s T20I setup, especially ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
