No Heat Wave in Karachi Despite High Temperatures, Says PMD
News Desk
Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has assured residents of Karachi that there is no threat of a heat wave in the city, despite the forecast predicting high temperatures today.
Karachi is expected to experience intense heat with the actual temperature reaching 36°C, while the “feels like” temperature could surpass 40°C. The weather will remain hot and humid throughout the daytime.
This morning, temperatures were recorded at 30°C with southwest winds blowing at 7 km/h. The humidity level is currently at 78 percent, which adds to the discomfort despite the moderate actual temperature.
Officials confirmed that the return of sea breezes to Karachi is helping to ease the situation, reducing the likelihood of a heat wave in the provincial capital. The presence of these sea breezes is providing relief and preventing the city from facing extreme heat conditions, according to the PMD.
