Government College University Lahore (GCUL)Youth Development Centre organized an event titled ‘سلاممحافظپاکستان’ (Salam Muhafiz Pakistan) in memory of scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer to honour his tremendous contributions to Pakistan’s nuclear energy program.
Speakers shed light on nuclear scientist’s extraordinary achievements and his practical solutions for the nation’s financial and political obstacles, emphasising that he served as an exemplary figure for aspiring scientists. Dr Qadeer daughter Dr Dina Khan attended the event and expressed her gratitude for the enthusiasm shown by the students. She emphasised the importance of education and the students’ roles in fulfilling her father’s dream of a prosperous Pakistan.
GCU Vice Chancellor Dr Asghar Zaidi praised Dr Khan’s unwavering patriotism and said that his dedicated efforts have had a significant impact on Pakistan’s power dynamics with other nations.
Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Laboratory Chief Scientist Dr Muhammad Aslam Malik urged the students to prioritise their country when considering their future endeavours, emphasizing the importance of nuclear energy for Pakistan’s survival.
Quality Assurance Division Deputy Chief Engineer Ahmad Shamim applauded Dr Qadeer pivotal role in advancing missile technology and the indigenous development of advanced materials and vacuum technology in Pakistan.
