NFTP Graduation Ceremony Held At IIU

Islamabad: At the National Freelance Training Program (NFTP) graduation ceremony, which took place on Thursday at the International Islamic University’s (IIU) new campus, around 301 students received certificates.
IIU President Dr Hathal Homoud Alotaibi as a chief guest distributed the certificates among the students on completion of their training at IIU centre.
Dr Hathal said that the digital transition is a significant feature of contemporary higher education and has the potential to transform the way students learn, teachers instruct and researchers carry out research. He asserted that youth self-employment programmes are essential to the expansion and advancement of any country.
Universities should support entrepreneurship, IIU President continued, with a particular emphasis on giving students access to a supportive environment where they may develop their digital skills and pursue a career as freelancer. It will give them the resources they need to be successful.
Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom Senior Joint Secretary Ali Aghar said that the ministry is focusing on reducing the unemployment and promoting youth sustainability. The government is attempting to provide enabling environment for young people to engage in emerging technology. In the areas of artificial intelligence, cyber security, e-knowledge, blockchain, and e-health the ministry is eager to teach and mentor young people.
Punjab Information Technology Board(PITB) Programme Manager Muhammad Amjad explained that this project is covering 3 main domains including technical, creative design and content marketing to the citizens who own a bachelor’s degree and are under the age of 40. He told that 20 k household have benefited from these centres that are 20 in total and 20 more soon being added.
Faculty of Computing and Information Technology Dean Dr Asmatullah Khan apprised that IIU was the pioneer university in the region to establish a dedicated centre with the help of ministry and PITB.
