New WhatsApp Update Allows One-Minute Voice Status Messages

News Desk

Islamabad: WhatsApp has introduced a new feature allowing users to share longer voice messages in status updates.

Users can now set one-minute-long voice notes in their status updates, compared to the previous 30-second limit.

This enhancement means users no longer need to create multiple 30-second voice notes to share longer messages.

To use this feature, users will need to hold the microphone icon in the bottom right corner of the status update screen to record a voice note, similar to recording a message in a chat.

To access the latest feature, users must update their app through the Google Play Store or App Store.

While WhatsApp typically adds new features via automatic updates, users should manually check for updates or set their app to automatically update to ensure they have the latest version.

It’s important to note that WhatsApp is rolling out the feature in stages, so some users might not receive the update immediately and will have to wait.

Unlike many new features, which WhatsApp initially releases in beta versions, this voice status feature has been made available to all users simultaneously.

WhatsApp had been working on this feature since 2022 and introduced the Voice Status feature in February 2023.
