New Polio Case Reported in KP, Raising 2024 Toll to 10

Peshawar: A new case of polio has been confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), pushing the province’s infection count to 10 for the year, officials reported Saturday.

The latest case involves a 28-month-old boy from Behram Union Council in Darazbanda Tehsil, DI Khan district, marking the third case in DI Khan and bringing Pakistan’s total polio cases to 48 in 2024.

According to the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) KP, the provincial breakdown of cases for 2024 includes 23 in Balochistan, 13 in Sindh, 10 in KP, and one each in Punjab and Islamabad.

In KP, DI Khan has reported three cases, while two cases each have emerged in Lakki Marwat and Kohat, with one case each in Mohmand, Tank, and Nowshera districts.
